1)Fluid classification
a)Colloid
C:Gelufundin
b)Crystalloid
Isotonic:A, D
Hypertonic: B
2)Fluid during resuscitation
-A; Hartmann solution
-C: Gelufundin
-D: Normal saline
3)High intracranial pressure
4)B is an osmotic diuresis.it should not be used as a resuscitation fluid especially in the presence of hypovolumic shock as it will worsen the shock and endanger the patient.
5)Contraindication for Hartmann solution
-Diabetic ketoacidosis (Hartman contains lactate which will worsen the acidosis)
-Gastric outlet obstruction (In Gastric outlet obstruction, there will be metabolic alkalosis due to severe vomiting. Lactate will be converted into bicarbonate ion and worsens the alkalosis.
6)Maintenance fluid
-D: Normal saline
-E: Normal saline with dextrose 5%
