1) Skeletal traction with Bohler Stirrup.
2) Indication for the procedures
a) Long term treatment of fracture or dislocation for more than two weeks (eg; fractured femur, fractured tibia, open fractures)
b) Hold the fracture after reduction
c) Traction more than 5 kg or 10% of body weight.
3) Complication
a) Pin tract infection
b) Over distraction causing delayed/ non union
c) Soft tissue injury
d) Ischemic necrosis of skin around the pin
e) Damage to the epiphyseal growth plate when used in children
